Karen was diagnosed with Parotid Gland Cancer in 2012. Which resulted in disfigurement in her face and altered her self image. She experienced emotionally, physical and spiritual hardship. In this podcast episode we talk about Karen’s journey and why she started her own foundation called Face2Face Healing. Imagine having cancer which caused disfigurement to your face and there's nothing more you can do. Well my new guest Karen was diagnosed with Parotid Gland Cancer in 2012 which ultimately resulted in an altered self image to her face. Karen has been a nurse for 32 years and was so distraught with the resources that were not available for cancer survivors like her.
Karen started Face2Face Healing which creates a network and provides the opportunity for individuals with disfigurement to meet and share their stories knowing they are not alone.

Did you ever hear of a store/studio called TaTa-Toos? Well I sat down with owner Andrea and she spilled with me. Andrea started TaTa-Toos for anyone that needed cosmetic or paramedical tattoos. We both agreed that this is a fitting podcast since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Did you ever hear of the Hekima Place? Approximately 7-11% of the population in Kenya is estimated to be HIV positive and over 2 million children have been orphaned.
Do you know a non-profit that helps orphaned vulnerable young girls in Kenya with education and empowerment for their future? Hekima Place began in 2005 with 10 young girls and today they house 90.
