"Mental Health In the Construction Industry with Jason Malatak. What's Your Why?"
Wednesday May 15, 2024
Wednesday May 15, 2024
In this enlightening episode, I engage in a thought-provoking conversation with my guest Jason Malatak, Director of Risk Management for Mosites Construction Company and a zealous advocate for mental health in the construction industry. We discuss the troubling silence surrounding mental health issues in the sector, putting a spotlight on the shockingly high suicide rates among construction workers.
Jason shares firsthand experiences and practical measures that his organization has taken in the fight against this mental health pandemic in the construction industry. The dialogue reminds listeners that assistance is always within reach and assures them that no one ever has to face mental health challenges alone.
The conversation goes deeper as Jason emphasizes the crucial role of mental health awareness within the construction industry. He shares his journey into advocating for mental health. The discussion sheds light on the reality that employers must value their employees, not only for their skills and output but more importantly, for their well-being.
All about empowering listeners and raising awareness, Jason details mental health resources and emphasis on " You are not alone", and each one of you holds value. Tune in to this captivating discussion not only for those involved in the construction industry, but for anyone seeking to understand the importance of mental health and the significance of a supportive environment in any occupation.
